Jason Miller AIA, NCARB Graduates Leadership Marion XXX

May 16, 2012

Omni Associates is pleased to announce that Jason M. Miller, architect and project manager, is a graduate member of Leadership Marion XXX. Participation in Leadership Marion is open to all Marion County citizens and/or employees in the Marion County area. The Board of Directors reviews applicants solicited from all walks of community life to select a class of interested, motivated, concerned individuals who have a sincere desire to offer their time and talents to improve their community and have demonstrated that commitment by past community activities.

The program begins with a three-day orientation retreat in August. A one-day seminar is held each month through May during which local leaders in industry, business, government, and academic communities are invited to take part in lectures, simulations, small group discussions, field trips, and panel discussions on subjects including history, economy, social services, public education, local government, labor, community planning, culture and the arts, health care, technology, and a range of other local concerns.

Each class also conducts an annual service project related to a local need. Leadership Marion XXX chose to support Marion County Habitat for Humanity by organizing and directing a 5K run, 2 mile walk, and Kids K to raise money and awareness for the cause. Mr. Miller had previously worked with Habitat for Humanity of Morgantown to develop potential low-income housing strategies. Other prior community activities have included serving on the Board of Directors of Monongalia Arts Center and working as an adjunct professor at Fairmont State University teaching Advanced Architectural CAD as well as Design classes. He coaches soccer for Marion County Youth Soccer Association and girls basketball at East Dale Elementary.
