Losh Achieves Autodesk BIM Certification

April 15, 2011

Omni Associates-Architects is pleased to announce that staff member Reuben Losh is now a Revit Architecture 2011 Certified Associate. Mr. Losh came to work for Omni in 2002 as a CAD technician. He exhibited a talent for software support and began training other staff members in the use of the software. In addition to his design endeavors and his duties as project manager, Mr. Losh currently provides software training and support in-house as well as to Omni’s engineering consultants. He plans to test soon for the next level of certification, Autodesk Revit Architecture 2011 Certified Professional.

Autodesk Certification demonstrates aptitude through performance-based testing. Those seeking certification are tested on their ability to perform tasks rather than on answers to questions about how those tasks might be accomplished. In this way, Autodesk Certification not only validates skills and knowledge but also accelerates professional development and improves productivity.

Revit Architecture is Building Information Modeling (BIM) software developed by Autodesk. The software works the way architects and designers think in order to develop higher-quality, more accurate architectural designs. It allows the user to design with both parametric 3D modeling and 2D drafting elements. Revit’s database for a project can also contain information about a project at various stages in the building’s lifecycle, from concept to construction to decommissioning, sometimes referred to as 4D CAD.
