West Virginia Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors Recognizes Three Projects with Excellence in Construction Awards

Omni Associates – Architects was honored at the West Virginia Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors 2011 Excellence in Construction Awards Dinner on August 4th, 2011 for three new projects: Allegheny Energy Transmission Headquarters, Twin Falls Resort State Park Lodge Expansion, and Shaft Drillers International Headquarters.

Allegheny Energy Transmission Headquarters is the winner of the ABC WV Excellence in Construction Commercial $25 - $100 Million category. Omni Associates shares this award with March-Westin Company and the Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line Company.

Twin Falls Resort State Park Lodge Expansion is the winner of the ABC WV Excellence in Construction Commercial $5 to $10 Million category. With the expansion project, which includes a new wing, the guest capacity has more than doubled, from 20 to 47 rooms. The new wing is also fully ADA accessible. Swope Construction Co. and the WV Division of Natural Resources were also recognized for this project.

Shaft Drillers International Headquarters is the winner of the ABC WV Excellence in Construction Other Specialty Construction Less than $1 Million category. The award is for the structural steel supporting the new 40,000 square foot, four-story, Class A corporate headquarter facility. Omni and SDI were recognized for the project along with CEC – Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc.

ABC WV’s Excellence in Construction Awards program has become a premier competition within the construction industry, recognizing the state’s most outstanding construction projects. The awards honor all members of the construction team, including the contractor, owner and architect. Award winners are selected based on complexity, attractiveness, unusual challenges, completion time, workmanship, safety and budget.
